Meet Andrew

Andrew Liddell was born in Victoria in August 1969 and moved to Queensland to the Gold Coast in 1979 with his family where he has lived in the Mudgeeraba area most of his life.

He attended school at Marymount College, Burleigh and on leaving school he started employment with the Department of Main Roads helping to construct many local roads and upgrades around the Gold Coast, Hinterland and Scenic Rim area as a Plant Operator. After 19 years of service, Andrew left the Department of Main Roads (Roadtek).

He started his own business locally in the road maintenance industry servicing the Gold Coast, Brisbane and surrounding areas, providing services such as an emergency response from landslides, vehicle accident responses on the M1 and general road maintenance. Andrew holds qualifications in Civil Construction and Workplace Health and Safety.

Andrew has strong leadership qualities and awards developed during his service in the Australian Defence Force Reserve on the Gold Coast. His outstanding achievements which include a soldier’s medallion for exemplary service, various outstanding Junior Non-Commissioned Officer awards and best Regimental Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in 2006. Andrew has also been awarded the Defence Force Long Service Medal with first clasp and Australian Defence Medal.

Andrew is a Life subscriber within the RSL organisation and is very involved supporting Veterans and their families in various roles in his community from organising activities such as ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services in his local community of Mudgeeraba.

Andrew is a team player and a strong leader, which he has developed over his 35-year working career and voluntary service. He is empathetic, loyal and has personal integrity. This combination of his life experiences and personal attributes will enable him to holistically serve the Mudgeeraba electorate representing the people as their state Member of Parliament.
